DAILY SUPPORTED READING
This is a reading programme that takes place daily in year 1 . All children read with an adult everyday between 9.05 and 9.30am. The reading lesson has several parts: listening to a story, reading the story, cut up sentences to put together and sentence writing.
All lessons focus on reading for pleasure, comprehension, punctuation, phrasing and reinforcement of key words.
Year 1 parents are very welcome to come and watch a Daily Supported Reading Session. These will take place after February half term. If you are interested in watching a session please contact your child’s teacher.
